Senator Patty Murray Threatens WA State Motorcoach Business

In the Full Committee mark-up of the FY 2010 Department of Transportation Appropriations bill, Subcommittee Chairman Patty Murray (D-WA) inserted a provision buried in the bill which prevents FTA from enforcing the charter service rule in the State of Washington. The statutory language is below:

SEC. 170. None of the funds provided or limited under this Act may be used to enforce regulations related to charter bus service under part 604 of title 49, Code of Federal 6 Regulations, in the State of Washington.
